Ashwin Sivakumar will be conducting a hands-on training workshop on machine learning in R for species distribution models (SDM). The workshop will be delivered as part of the American Statistical Association Orange County Long Beach Chapter Data Science Symposium and will cover the following:

• Introduction to species distribution models.

• Run through the R code for loading the species and bioclimatic environment data

• Walk through a very simple modeling sample using the Random Forest modeling method using R

• Show the results and explain the new species distribution output.
